A material experiment.

Facet is a fictional studio created by Gael Metz--Lejeal as a portfolio project. The editor, local library and exports work in your browser. Facet is not a commercial service and does not sell subscriptions, create accounts or process payments.

Your materials stay here.

The editor stores your active material and up to 24 saved materials in localStorage, under facet-studio-v1. This is local storage used to provide the save and restore functions you choose to use. It is not sent to a server or synchronized between devices. It stays until you clear it or your browser removes it.

JSON imports are read locally. Exported JSON, JavaScript and PNG files are generated on your device. There is no file upload, account, contact form, analytics, advertising or marketing tracker in the project.

This clears Facet’s saved materials on this origin. Download a JSON copy first if you want to keep your work. Files already downloaded are unaffected.

Cookies & external resources

Facet itself sets no cookies. No cookie banner is needed for its local editing and saving features. The private Site host may use its own authentication cookies; the public portfolio copy has no sign-in requirement.

Three.js 0.169.0 and its environment module load from jsDelivr. Your browser contacts that CDN to request these files. Inter is served locally. No images or third-party embeds are loaded by the Facet scene.

The footer uses an AI-generated smoked-glass still life served locally with this site. It makes no video or image requests to a third-party service. The separate adjustable glass study uses code-only artwork. The original Leedlime footer study is a standalone design demonstration with placeholder links and status text. The original study retains the landscape video and poster supplied in its brief, loaded from CloudFront, and Geist fonts from Google Fonts. Visiting these views makes requests to the services described here.

Use & attribution

This is an experimental tool, provided without a service-level guarantee. Browser support and graphics hardware affect rendering. Reduced-motion preferences or unavailable WebGL use a static view; JSON and code export remain available. Keep exported copies of materials you wish to retain.

You may use the material settings and images you create. The Facet interface is a portfolio work by Gael Metz--Lejeal. Three.js is MIT licensed; Inter is provided under the SIL Open Font License, available in the bundled font license.
